My Boys are My Everything

Logan started Kindergarten in Riley about a week and a half ago. He is really liking school. I am so impressed with the Riley school district, I am so glad we moved here, I couldn't be happier. The teachers here are just remarkable, and you can see they really care about all the kids they teach.

Logan has been cancer free for 2 years now, so he only has to go and get a brain scan once every 6 months. I  am so proud of how far Logan has come since that day of his brain surgery. He has matured and learned so much. I am one of his biggest teachers, I work with him daily to teach him new skills. I have been very lucky to be able to stay at home with him for his first 5 years, he will be going all day in Kindergarten this year. I will miss him greatly, but I know it is time to let him go to school to learn new things, and meet new people. I know he will do great.

Landon is staying home with me this year, he is not quite 2 1/2 yet. I will be working with him when Logan is in school to try and get him ready for preschool next year. There is so much they need to know nowadays its insane, a lot more then when I was young. Landon is talking a lot, and doing a lot of independent things, he doesn't like to hold my hand when we walk, he likes to guide himself,  yeah I know I'm pretty sad, he's growing up, he is a toddler now.

Logan and Landon have a wonderful bond, I am so happy that they look up to each other so much, they play together so well.  I love to see them play and interact together, it makes me so happy inside. The boys love to color, and paint, and read books. Being a mom is really one of the best jobs ever. I am forever thankful for my beautiful children.

My husband is so loving, and caring. We have been together for 6 years. Our relationship gets stronger and better everyday. I am so thankful for his humbleness. He would do anything for our family and myself. He really just wants me to be happy, and I am.

Logan is 5

Logan you are 5 yrs old, I cannot believe it. You are one of  the strongest boys I know. You were diagnosed with Brain cancer at 1yr and 10 months. You had brain surgery and you completed 1 1/2 years of Chemotherapy, and are now 1 1/2 yrs in remission. It was harder than words I can write to seem strong when you were going through your cancer, but I'm writing this because it will always be a big part of who you are. You like to watch cartoons, and play with your younger brother. You are a picky eater, just like your dad! You love to go to school and play outside. You are very proud of what you know.

I will be here for you for the rest of your life and I want you to know that. You are capable of the same things as any other child. You have been in speech therapy for 2 yrs and have come a long ways, I am so proud of you. You will be in Kindergarten next yr, I cannot say how happy I am for you.  I love you so much!
You and I at your last Brain Scan :)

You still go up to Kansas City, to Children's Mercy Hospital every 3 months for a Brain scan, to make sure your Brain cancer has not come back, and Dad and I go up with you. I cant wait to see what life brings for you. You are loving, caring, and sweet, and you have a beautiful smile, my heart melts every time I see it, and I'm just so very thankful you are here with us, I love you!
