Some interesting things about Logans tumor location I came across!

Logan had a tumor in his brain the doctors believe that was there from Birth to 1 year and 10 months of age,The tumor was located in the right temporal lobe of the brain. When it was discovered the tumor was the size of a golfball. It was then surgically removed! Logan had been also having seizures from 6 months of age to 1 year and 10 months also.
Now you must be wondering how does the temporal lobe function! Here are the basic functions of the temporal lobe. Have a look at them.

SpeechSpeech is governed by the left temporal lobe of the brain. This lobe contains the language zone, Wernicke's area, which is a part of the brain that is responsible for controlling the mental processing necessary for speech. It controls the processes involved in comprehension and verbal memory.

Memory
The hippocampus, which plays a crucial role in long term memory retention is located in the temporal lobe. It stores the essential components of memory, that you can recall consciously and describe. These memories can be anything like, facts, events, people and places. It plays an important role in retrieving information stored in the brain. It is an important function of temporal lobe.
Reading
Reading comprehension and retention entirely depends on the temporal lobe. It processes the sounds and written words into meaningful information. The temporal lobe allows you to remember what you read and stores the information for you to recollect later.

Emotional Responses
The amygdalae, located deep within the temporal lobes play an important role in processing memory of emotional responses. It enhances mood stability, and deflection in the activity of this lobe can cause fluctuating or unpredictable moods and behavior. The temporal lobe is also concerned with the expression of fear. Researchers say that the temporal lobes may be stimulated during spiritual or religious experiences, and those with temporal lobe epilepsy appear to be highly sensitive to extraordinary experiences.

Auditory Responses
A section in the temporal lobe known as the primary auditory cortex, is responsible for receiving and interpretation of information that is transmitted through the auditory responses. It responds to different sound frequencies and also helps in determining the location of a particular sound.

Visual Processing
The most advanced types of visual memory are processed and interpreted by the lower portions of the temporal lobe. Feelings of conviction and insight are also due to the temporal lobes.

Olfactory Functions
The olfactory lobe, which is responsible for identification and recognition of olfactory information is situated in the lower surface of the temporal lobe.

Landon is 3 weeks old

Wow I cannot believe that 3 weeks have already passed since Landon was born! I am loving every second of the time I get with my precious boys! Landon eats about every 2-3 hours. I am breastfeeding him and it is going wonderful! He usually sleeps for 3-4 hours at a time during the night, which is absolutely wonderful! He is a very happy baby. He makes the cutest grunting noises haha! Logan is loving his little brother, he always asks if he can hold Landon. I cant wait to see the boys grow up together! And me of course, I am doing wonderful! I am adjusting to having two children wonderfully!

Stay tuned for more updates on the Logan and Landon!

First Pics!

I went in to the hospital at midnight on Tuesday and I was induced. I was able to get some sleep. As well as my husband. Our son Logan went to stay the night at Grandma and Grandpa Ross' house. Special thanks to them. I am so thankful to have some family close by! But anyway I dialated to 5 centimeters and i asked for an epidural. My mom and dad came down from Quinter to be with me while i was in labor, which was so nice. They left to go grab a bite to eat and not even 5 minutes after they left I felt something just drop and I told the nurse and she checked me and I was dialated to a 7 and then she checked me 5 minutes later and I was a 9 and then before I knew it I was at a 10 and it was time to start pushing! I am so thankful for my husband for being there telling me everything was going to be alrite and just helping me get thru the process of having a baby! Landon was born at 1:56 pm on March 28th,2012. I chose to have them put Landon up on my chest after he was born and I got to dry him off, it was a really great experience. My husband Anthony also chose to cut Landon's umbilical cord! He said it was a wonderful experience! I am so thankful for my doctor and all of the other nurses for this great experience. I couldnt be happier with our experience. I am really looking forward to Landon and Logan growing up together and being able to capture all the wonderful moments on camera! At first Logan didnt really know what to think, but by the end of the day he was all into holding his little brother! Stay tuned for more updates on the boys!
