Logan's Tumor

So I was doing some research and came across some information about Logan's tumor. Logan's brain tumor is called an anaplastic astrocytoma. An anaplastic astrocytoma is a grade 3 tumor. The order of brain tumors goes as follows, from less serious to more serious---

  • Astrocytoma:

  • An astrocytoma is a glioma that develops from star-shaped glial cells (astrocytes) that support nerve cells.  An anaplastic astrocytoma is classified as a grade III tumor.

Treatment depends on the location of the tumor and how far it has progressed. Surgery and radiation therapy, with chemotherapy during or following radiation, are the standard treatments. If surgery is not an option, then the doctor may recommend radiation and/or chemotherapy. Many clinical trials (experimental treatments) using radiation, chemotherapy, or a combination are available for initial and recurrent anaplastic astrocytomas.

The link below has all the information on his tumor, if you are interested!

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anaplastic_astrocytoma

I just cannot express how thankful I am that his tumor was removed all the way with surgery the first time!! He had a very very aggressive kind of tumor, and this kind of tumor is very hard to remove with surgery the first attempt! I just hope this is it, and we move on and Logan gets to fulfill his dreams! The doctors say there is a 40% chance Logan's cancerous tumor could come back and a 60% chance it wont! But I'll let god be the judge on what happens! We brought this sweet little boy into this world and we are going to enjoy every moment that we are given with him! Logan has 3 more treatments left! Oh joy!! I sure can't wait!

Seven things I would never change...

    1. The fact of me being a stay at home mom- Yes it is a big responsibility, it has its ups and downs, and ins and outs, but I cherish being able to spend each and every day with my boys, and having gotten to see them grow up from the day they were born!

    2. My husbands schedule- My husband gets home at 7:30 pm every night, there are times I really hate this, but I know he loves his job and he is so happy with it, so this makes me happy, to see him happy!

    3. Doing extra things for ourselves- I believe that it is alright to do things for yourself. We each work and I think we all deserve those extra things, that make us happy!

    4. Breastfeeding our son Landon- I did all of my research of the pros and cons of breastfeeding. I decided that it was best to breastfeed Landon. He seems to enjoy the closeness with me, and that really makes me happy. My hubby kinda gets left out, but he seems to be happy i am breastfeeding Landon.

    5. Where we live- Honestly I love where we live. It is a great place, and we are slowly working on fixing this place up, so we can get some other people living in this place! I'm not picky, we have been here for 3 years! Being happy is really all that matters!

    6. What I drive- I drive a 99' Chrysler Concorde. I absolutely LOVE it! It is the perfect size for 2 children! And the car is great for family trips! That's the important thing right, that your vehicle it big enough for everyone! In my eyes, I don't think there is any need for a brand new car at this point in our lives!

    7. And lastly I wouldn't change the moment of when i met my husband- Oh my did I ever get so lucky. My husband is my best friend, my soul mate, and the best daddy in the world to our children. I could not be more thankful! I did kinda do things ass backwards but everything worked out, and it all happened before we decided to marry each other, I made sure I loved this man and everything was worked out before we married each other, I didn't just make it work because we had a child together! I am looking forward to the years to come with him! I love it when he gets home from work, and our talks about our day! I love the connection we have with one another! This means the world to me!

    Happy Wednesday!!

    What I'm Loving This Week!

Hi everybody!! My week is going great so far! This week I am loving our new Keurig Brewer!! In my eyes this was the best invention ever! With the Keurig you can brew all kinds of tasy drinks, like iced teas, coffee, iced coffee, hot cocoa, cider, and many more drinks! You can also brew your own coffee(the kind that you brew in a regular coffee pot)! Which I think is amazing! It is perfect for me anyway, since I only drink one or too cups of coffee a day, and its also great if you want 1 cup of coffee in the afternoon as well, if you dont want to make a whole pot of coffee!! Here it is!

What are ya'll loving this week?

    Happy Monday!!
